He marked his international debut as a sub with a crucial stoppage-time equaliser at the back post in Croatia. 

It was the latest goal for Broadhead, who netted 10 times in 20 league games while on loan at Sunderland in League One last season from Everton.

He added a further five on loan at Wigan in the Championship this term before a permanent switch to Ipswich in January for £1.5m.

Broadhead has since scored four more goals for Ipswich in League One – but his goal in Split tops the lot.

He said: “I got a bit overwhelmed, to be honest. I got quite emotional.
