Coleen Nolan is well loved for being so open. From sharing her relationship woes to parenting problems, she’s always been a fan-favourite on Loose Women for her hilarious honesty.
One thing she has been candid about in recent months is the fact that, despite huge success, she didn’t make her fortune singing with the Nolans. ‘We sold 0 million records and yet we didn’t get any money from that,’ she said. Is that perhaps why she’s been intent on protecting her money ever since?
Back in 2012, it was reported that Coleen, 59, was one of 518 directors of Romangate, a company set up in 2009 to facilitate what was believed to be a legitimate tax avoidance scheme called Rushmore. At the time, the scheme, which included many famous names, made headlines, with one source telling Woman’s Own, ‘Coleen’s name being involved was upsetting and stressful for her. There was a sense that if all these other big names were involved, it was probably a smart move. Nobody thought it would raise flags down the line.
Coleen’s always been one to tuck money away, in this case seemingly even finding ways to protect her earnings by being part of these tax schemes.’
