I would happily shun foundation and mascara on a night out or for an event, and go completely make-up free.

But then, I've never worn much make-up anyway, preferring to use it sparingly only on very special occasions like my own wedding. Although even then, after having my make-up done professionally, it took me a while to get used to it. I think it stems from having had acne as a teenager, and wanting to avoid putting products on my skin that would irritate it instead I focused on a good skincare regime.
