Mechanic Liam Walsh has tackled the RS-engined Fiesta phenomenon by swapping the standard engine of his Mk5 for the Focus RS unit. Why?! Well, why the hell not?!
The current popular topic on the Ford forums of late is when is Ford going to bring out an RS version of the Fiesta. Well, Liam Walsh is a giant leap ahead running no other than a Focus RS-engined Mk5 Fiesta!
Like many, Liam’s Ford obsession stems from watching the awesome Sapphires and Cosworths that graced our screens in the early 90s. “Watching the rallying set my car obsession in motion, and it’s never waned. I’m massively into my track days. I’ll always prefer a good track day than spending hours cleaning the thing for people to look around. Alright for some, but I’d rather just enjoy its power,” Liam said, smiling.
Liam originally bought the 1.6litre petrol Fiesta back in 2013 – the engine was completely blown, so a perfect excuse to swap the engine out, no!? The Fiesta is a sleeper, no two ways about it.Looking at it, you wouldn’t have the foggiest that it’s running a Focus RS unit under the hood.
