We consume millions of cups of tea every day in the UK. With such a huge market, it’s fair to say tea has the potential to make a positive impact on the world. However, the reality is that on the whole our relationship with tea is one-sided: we turn to tea for daily refreshment but our obsession with cheap tea has led to a lack of quality and transparency, and offers little to those who grow and process tea or the land it’s grown on.
