How this Bikini pro is paying it forward by helping fitness entrepreneurs succeed in business
After years spent pounding the tar as a committed road runner, in an effort to lose weight, Amber Blom then decided it was time to transform her endurance athlete physique into a tight and toned body worthy of the competitive Bikini stage. With the help of her coach, not only did Amber successfully make the transition, but she reached the pinnacle of the sport by achieving her pro card. She now spends most of her time and effort in helping other aspiring athletes and fitness models to unlock opportunities through her role as the chair of FITposium.
How do you maintain your healthy and fitness-focused lifestyle?
For me, balance is key. I invest in my fitness and nutrition, but I also leave opportunities for life to happen. I can sleep in on a Saturday morning, or grab some ice cream with my hubby without feeling like I’ve cheated on a plan.
What or who informed or shaped your approach to training?
For most of my career I’ve worked with Amy Miller (@amymillertraining). She helped get my physique to the pro level. To achieve that we did a lot of traditional heavy lifting, with an intense focus on engaging the proper muscles while lifting. That’s where I learned the importance of proper technique and the mind-muscle connection.
What first drew you to the competitive stage?
