I Buried My Fiance... Then Gave Birth To His Baby

A Day of Sorrow Blossomed Into One of Hope for Kelly.

Kelly Jones’ life was torn apart just three weeks before she was due to give birth.

Heavily pregnant with her fifth child, Kelly, then 26, and her high school sweetheart Ricky Norman, 27, couldn’t wait to welcome a new addition to their close-knit family. But what should have been a time of joy turned to one of heart-wrenching sorrow for the mum when she failed to get hold of Ricky one day at work.

“I tried to call him several times on his mobile that morning but he hadn’t picked up,” Kelly tells New Idea in an exclusive interview. “I felt fear creep over me.”

Soon after, the doorbell of the home Kelly shared with her soulmate rang. A policeman was there with Ricky’s brother, Ryan. “I’m sorry there has been a terrible accident,” he explained.

“He didn’t have to say another word. I knew immediately that Ricky was dead,” a heartbroken Kelly recalls.

“I could do nothing but fall to my knees and sob. I have never felt such despair.” What had first started as a schoolgirl crush on a boy aged 12 at the time, had turned into enduring love when Kelly reunited with Ricky after years apart.

“When we broke up I was only 16, but I remember wondering if I would ever meet someone as special as Ricky,” Kelly remembers.
