Almost 70 per cent of Australian women aged 40-65 reported a lack of sexual desire in a study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, but it can happen at any age. “Low sex drive is very common – any stress or distress in life could have an effect on the libido,” says Dr Elizabeth Farrell, medical director and gynaecologist at Jean Hailes for Women’s Health.
