GREASE IS STILL THE WORD FOR THE HOPELESSLY DEVOTED FRIENDS

Think of cinema's greatest couples, and Grease's Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson no doubt come to mind.

With the classic pairing of bad boy and good girl, stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's chemistry was indeed electrifying which is why the film boasts I hopelessly devoted fan base more than 40 years on since it burst onto the big screen.

Now, New Idea can confirm John, 68, and Olivia, 73, are devising a third Grease film, which will reunite the friends on the big screen 44 years after the original 1978 film.

The pair, who didn't appear in the 1982 sequel Grease 2, which instead starred Michelle Pfeiffer and Maxwell Caulfield, remain close to this day. And insiders reveal they're keen to prove to a new generation that Grease is still the word.

"Olivia and John have their entire careers to thank for that movie and they want to pay tribute to it,” dishes a source.

"Not to mention that it would also be a way to honour their lifelong friendship."
