Regular readers of this magazine will be familiar with the output of Graham Mollard of GNM Miniatures, an artisan toy soldier maker based in North Yorkshire who has been serving the hobby for more than thirty years. Graham produces traditionally crafted toy soldiers using the old French production technique, building his figure masters on a lead dolly with the addition of sheet pewter and solder. Figures are cast using a centrifuge and the lead alloy parts then soldered together. Brass or pewter sheet is also used in places, as well as a brass rod. A genuine one-man show, he does his own research, produces masters, casts his figures, and does all the assembly and painting.
