Zong Zijie tells why running and exercise are vital to his daily routine.
The 23-year-old actor, managed by NoonTalk Media, is one of Singapore’s top rising stars, and is also a great fan of using fitness training as a way to relax between the long hours typically required in shooting television serials. His acting career started in 2009 when he was just 13 years old, and the passion was ignited.
“I was a kid with a very short attention span,” he says. “I didn’t really enjoy studying, and it was hard for me to sit still in school. However, I discovered that on film sets, I would rehearse my lines, wait for my scenes, and somehow I felt really happy in that setting. As with most kids going through puberty I started to put on weight in my teenage years.”
He started running on his own, and the excess weight started to come off. When he started serving his National Service, Zijie really got into the fitness lifestyle and started studying more about the science behind sport and fitness training.
