I denne utgaven

For our thirtieth issue, we felt it was time to look to the future. Our lead article, ‘Girl Power’, discusses how the education of today’s girls is integral to a more positive future for humans and the planet on which we all live. I implore you to support its findings and do anything you can to support and encourage girls, giving them the same – if not more – opportunities and assistance as the boys in your family and wider community. In Kuwait, women yearn for an increase in political engagement and we have a super article showing how badly things need to change there and in the wider region.
As Spring approaches after a long, hard winter in
the northern hemisphere, Ramadan is nearly upon
us again. Whilst it is usually a time for reflection
and prayer, it is also a family and community celebration, chance to break fast together at Iftar. This year things will once again be very different as the globe tries to keep this virus at bay.
A regular focus for us is the environment and this issue we look at the links between fossil fuels and global pollution.
Elsewhere in this issue, we discover workplace trends for 2021, how not to fail at social media, data harnessing, and preparing for future COVID outbreaks if you are a CIO.
On COVID-19, we take a peek at how many retailers have had to go online out of necessity in ‘Retail vs Pandemic’. We also encounter yet another barrier to travel for so many across the globe with the potential introduction of vaccine passports. On a more positive note, we see how a coastal area in the UK has put together a team to help its housebound elderly and carers combat loneliness.
And on that positive note, we send our very best wishes to you, family and extended community. Thank you for continuing to support our magazine.
