Designing residential projects is one of the most challenging and complex task for interior designers. Unlike any other space, a house or a residence is used on a very personal level by various individuals who might be having different preferences and may span across various generations. Therefore INSITE decided to focus the May issue on residential spaces and display a range of such projects. The INSITE story features  the projects by Shilpa Gore-Shah & Pinkish Shah, an apartment by Shroffleon designs, a Villa by Moriq Interiors, apartments by Spacefiction, Ankit Prabhudessai & Mitesh Antala, a Pent House by Conarch Architects as well as weekend home by Delhi Collective. The Art Insight section features the unique art of Calligraphy mastered by Achyut Palav.

The second most important space for humans are commercial or office spaces, after residential spaces. Like residences, it is important to design Commercial Spaces thoughtfully since these are a reflection of the organization to its visitors as well as the importance it gives to its employees by ensuring their comfort. This June 2019 issue of INSITE focuses on Commercial Spaces and gives a look into wonderfully designed commercial spaces. Institutional Spaces are essentially meant to inspire and aspire people to contribute towards their societal responsibility, be it school, training centre, library or a community centre. That’s the reason, designing these spaces involves multiple considerations from the stakeholder’s perspective. From universities and institutes to galleries and centres, a variety of projects fall under this category of design. Keeping in mind the innumerable users of an institutional space, architects and designers need to consider the requirements of all users to make the space functional, aesthetic and resource-friendly and of course, user-friendly! The June issue of insite gives an insight into the journey and the winners of the IIID Design Excellence Awards. Tanjua B. K in the lead story explains the nine months of exhaustive planning and process of IIID Design Excellence Awards. This is followed by the winners who have received awards in various categories. The article 'Vaanar Sena in Sri Lanka' by Niraj shah describes the journey of the IIID fraternity in Sri Lanka during the award ceremony. The sketches done by Pratyush Shankar during the Sri Lanka visit are featured in this issue as well. It also features the IIID Fellow members: Architect Hari Agashe and Architect Dulal Mukherjee. The February issue of Insite steps outside of the usual architectural structures and spaces, to throw light on the ever-expanding field of Exhibition Design. INSITE is India's first B2B design magazine with a primary focus on the profession of interior designing and architecture and it also focuses on the eternal factor of design. INSITE is the official magazine of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID).
