User's Guide to Living." Since then we have had constant
requests from readers around the world to compile those articles
into a Collectors' Edition, as a reference for individuals to
transform themselves, and a resource for workshops and training
programs.
So this December, Heartfulness Magazine offers you this

October 10 is World Mental Health Day, and this year the WHO is partnering with many organizations around the world to explore mental health@work. Mental health is a lot more than the absence of illness—it is an intrinsic part of overall health and well-being, and with that comes the need to integrate it into primary health care around the world. 
Mental well-being is dependent on happiness, joy, and love. So, this month our authors and artists have gravitated to these themes. During June, Daaji 2024 was traveling through Europe and the US, and this catalyzed a number of high profile meetings and interviews. One of the highlights was the pre-launch of the exhibition of Master Yoga at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, leading up to International Day of Yoga on June 21, during which he was interviewed by Guila Clara Kessous, the UNESCO Art Ambassador, about the role of art in society. The interview is one of those highlights in this edition that can change the course of a person’s life.
Also, we hear from Daaji on how to reset our mental well-being and manage change. We hear from Pir Zia Inayat Khan on our invisible inner gardens, Barbara Sonvilla on resonance, Sofia Stril-Rever on conscience, IchakAdizes on collaborative leadership, and Muhammed Haniff Abdul Razak on a real-life city of peace and harmony.

In March 2024, 60,000 people gathered at Kanha Shanti Vanam for an interfaith celebration organized by the MInistry of Culture, Government of India, and Heartfulness Institute. People came from 300 organizations around the globe, along with the Hon'ble President and Hon'ble Vice President of India.
There were plenary talks and panel discussions, exhibitions and stalls, activities and practical experiences, musical performances, and group meditations. We shared meals, accommodation, and all the other facilities at Kanha Shanti Vanam, and came away with a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other. This Global Spirituality Mahotsav was an opportunity to develop harmony, peace, and heart coherence among people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. And the HeartMath research conducted during the event showed it worked: Our coherence was significant!
This month's edition does a deep dive into the Mahotsav with Daaji on love, Rollin McCraty on heart coherence, Joseph Howell on connecting with the inner child, Sofia Stril-Rever on peace, Gour Gopal Das on managing problems, NilakshiRajkhowa on the world as one family, Sravan Banda on cultivating peace through the environment, Aaryan Arora on becoming his own influence, SiddharthKak on creativity, Sara Bubber on time, and very specially, the Rt. The effects of climate change have gone so far that reversal is impossible. Instead, we have entered a critical season of regeneration, when we can come together to re-energize Mother Earth and her occupants with nourishment, compassion, and healing for the future.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day, a day to raise awareness and efforts around the world. In many countries, mental health issues are still either taboo or approached as the remedial treatment of mental illness. Yoga, Ayurveda, TCM, and the other ancient traditions have a broader approach, treating mind, emotions, and body together, not separately, and seeing mental well-being as a progressive journey toward higher states of wholeness and expansion of consciousness. 
So, in this edition, we explore mental wellness in more depth. Daaji offers tips on becoming whole, and creating a healthy environment for young people. International Day of Peace falls on September 21, so this month we celebrate how far we have come, and reflect on how we can keep improving the Peace Quotient of our global human society. Consciousness has shifted, despite all the negativity in the media. We are aware of more and more ways to be peaceful and to radiate peace into our communities. Many of us now send peaceful intentions into the world every day.
We hear from Daaji, Deepak Chopra, the Spirit of Humanity Forum's recent peace retreat in Iceland, Lynn Geddes and Tracie Pape. We tap into Peacefulness with Ranjani Iyer et.al., Ichak Adizes, and Manilal Roopa. We look at sustaining the soul and nurturing the Earth with Liaa Kumar and Laya Iyer, Sravan Banda, Charles Eisenstein, and Babuji. Our artists include Liu Janmin and two students from the Heartfulness Learning Center.

In August, our themes are diverse and life-affirming, including practical tips on being in the present, relaxing our efforts, ChatGPT, the importance of social connection to well-being, and a practical approach to dealing with grief. We receive a natural remedy for insomnia, find purpose through sport and meditation, look at the perils of being too smart, experience the benefits of energy healing, and learn about vibrant health and three priorities for environmental healing. We are encouraged to take the consumer challenge and reduce our wants, and celebrate Womanifesto. It’s a rich and inspiring edition that will keep you engaged all month.


In July our authors focus on various dimensions of health and healing – for individuals, communities, organizations, and the environment. Each one challenges the status quo, whether that is by addressing the role of love in healing, identifying vital issues for the health of the environment, understanding what yoga and meditation can do to heal us, and what will bring reconciliation in war-ravaged poor communities. They offer us a feast of thought-provoking insights. 

June is a celebration of everything yoga as we lead up to International Day of Yoga, June 21, 2023. Yoga is for everyone – old and young, fit and unfit, rich and poor, from all cultures and walks of life – and our authors and artists make it easy by sharing the simplest of tips on breathing, moving, meditating, and related topics like Ayurveda and mental health. They will show you how even taking baby steps will improve your quality of life.

In May, Heartfulness Magazine focuses on the simple adage, "travel light," which forms the basis of carefreeness, happy relationships, and a light footprint on the planet. 
Our authors and artists explore practices and lifestyle tips to support lightness, self-love, self-care, slowing down, deconstructing, and cultivating happiness. We also learn about heart coherence, the beauty of gentleness, wild intelligence, creativity, self-discovery, and how mothers can be supported in modern societies.


This month’s authors challenge us to think about balance in a different way.

We learn about distraction, decision-making, and how to care for ourselves. We explore consciousness, correct perception and understanding, and the way we all research in everyday life. We celebrate young researchers and empathetic leaders, and learn the secrets of resisting temptation. We examine the silent epidemic of loneliness and the pursuit of happiness. We evaluate our chances of realizing SDG 3 by 2030, discover how the gut microbiome affects our immune system, and observe the relaxation that comes with Nature’s sounds. Finally, we learn how the city of Reykjavik’s Green Plan is at the forefront of creating the 3 pillars of sustainability – economic, social, and environmental – leading to an environmentally-friendly city.
