Anne questions her ‘addiction’ to online purchases, while others are buying locally to ‘save our shops’
I’ve never been shopping’s greatest fan. I couldn’t see the attraction of retail therapy… until they invented online shopping. It was a slow start, but the game changer for me was when they started to make it easy to RETURN the purchases you really didn’t want or need.
And now, I am almost ashamed to admit, I am a far too keen online shopper. So desperate am I sometimes for instant gratification that I automatically go for almost anything that is a ‘same day’ delivery! It’s like Christmas every day. Of course, there are downsides. Personally, the downside is that I spend too much money on stuff I could live without, and also that when they arrive, they create a cardboard overload crisis at home.
