IT WAS hailed as the wedding of the year months before it had even kicked off. There was no way the daughter of a billionaire businessman and a former fashion model would wed the son of one of the UK's most high-profile couples without a fabulous display of flamboyance. And that's exactly what it was.
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's wedding extravaganza took place over three days, involved 500 guests, and reportedly cost an eyewatering $4 million (R58m). The venue was the sprawling Palm Beach estate belonging to the Peltz family in Florida, where giant marquees were erected on the lawns of the beachfront property the day before the celebrations began.
Security guards with watchdogs in tow patrolled the grounds as one delivery truck after another arrived to offload equipment.
Meanwhile, the lovebirds geared up for the first celebration: their pre-wedding party. Brooklyn (23) and Nicola (27) donned matching white suits by Christian Dior to the Friday evening soiree, which was held at a private guesthouse across the road owned by the Peltz family.
The party was attended by A-list pals, including tennis-star sisters Serena and Venus Williams, singer Marc Anthony, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, and actress Eva Longoria. It was an informal affair with food stations, a bar, and a dancefloor where guests danced to tunes "from a variety of decades”, an insider says.
“Brooklyn and Nicola looked happy and were walking around holding hands the whole night and sneaking kisses.
The next morning a wedding breakfast was served catered for by top chef Thierry Isambert who's prepared meals for the likes of ex-US President Bill Clinton.
FAST FACTS
Instead of gifts, Brooklyn and Nicola asked guests to make donations to Care, a humanitarian agency providing aid for people affected by the war in Ukraine.
