With its vaulted ceilings, antique French oak flooring and original cast iron fireplaces Meriel and Pervis’ 19th century home is the epitome of elegance.
The couple have been in the property for more than 30 years and while they have carried out a considerable amount of work in that time all renovations have been completely sympathetic so as to maintain the original charm and character of the home.
“When we bought the house Belfast was a no-go zone so we liked that this house felt rural but is in fact only a short drive to the city centre and it was close to the schools,” explained Meriel.
“It’s also right next to the Lagan tow path, golf club and parks so it’s never felt remote while we still have all the benefits of the countryside.”
Decorating this spacious property with its five bedrooms and three reception rooms was no small task but one that Meriel enjoyed immensely.
“The house has so many lovely features that the main objective when it came to decorating and renovating was just to enhance what was already there.
“We work in the art industry so were confident when it came to using colour and pulling different elements together.”
