TRIBUTES FLOOD IN FOR THE LATE HOME AND AWAY STAR

With two TV Week Logie Awards and a fan base that could rival any boy band, Dieter Brummer was one of Australia’s biggest soap stars.

Sadly, on July 24, the Home and Away icon passed away at just 45 years old. While local police found the actor’s body at his Glenhaven home in Sydney, his death is not believed to be suspicious.

Starring opposite Melissa George, Dieter became a household name portraying Summer Bay’s Shane Parrish.

His marriage to Melissa’s Angel was hot fodder on- and off-screen in the ’90s.

But despite his popularity and sex-symbol status, Dieter’s good friend and former co-star, Ross Newton, who played Greg Marshall on Home and Away, tells New Idea the late heart-throb was more unassuming than fans realised.
