HER ROYAL LIKENESS!

As TV cameras swept through Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth could be seen waving from her posh kitchen. Turning and racing through the corridors, the cameras next caught glimpses of twin beds made up for Princes William and Harry in a plush guest room, as well as a golden loo.

But as a strapline flashed up on screen it was quickly apparent this wasn’t the real palace or even the real Queen. In fact, it was one of the UK’s longest serving royal look-alikes, Mary Reynolds, taking part in an advert for a chain of holiday homes.

Mary, 88, started her look-alike career four decades ago when it was pointed out that she held an uncanny likeness to Her Majesty.

“When I was 17 somebody on holiday told me I looked like Princess Elizabeth and in my 30s I kept noticing people staring or nudging each other when they saw me,” Mary tells New Idea exclusively.

“When my husband saw an article about a Prince Charles look-alike who had been so successful he’d given up his regular job we contacted some agencies to see if I could give it a go,” she adds.
