LIZ'S HEARTBREAK ‘I'VE LOST THE LOVE OF MY LIFE'

Just over a week on from losing the love of her life, Elizabeth Hurley is still struggling to pick up the pieces.

Comforted by her son Damian, friends say the grieving pair are now focused on whether they’ll attend Shane Warne’s state funeral in Melbourne later this month.

“It’s a delicate situation,” says a source, who notes Shane made it very clear that Elizabeth was the second love of his life, with the first being [his ex-wife] Simone, who as the mother of his kids is obviously front and centre.

“This is an emotionally distressing time for both Simone and Elizabeth, so everyone is being very sensitive and careful around them both. Damian, who adored Shane, wants to go to the funeral.”

Indeed Damian, 19, describes Shane as “a father figure to me … one of the best men I’ve ever known.”

New Idea understands he remains close with the cricket legend’s three kids, Brooke, 24, Jackson, 22, and Summer, 20 – as does Liz.

“Liz used to call herself ‘Mummy 2’ in text messages,” tells a second source in the UK. “She was fond of them all, and really busted a gut to build bridges and create a happy family unit.”
