The last time Seaman met the Auld Enemy, despite losing on the night, his late reflex save denied Christian Dailly’s header sending the Euro 2000 play-off into extra time at Wembley.
And at Euro 96, with England 1-0 up but under siege, Seaman beat out Gary McAllister’s penalty with his elbow – and barely 60 seconds later, Paul Gascoigne settled all arguments with one of the greatest goals in football’s oldest rivalry.
“Typical,” laughed Seaman. “I save a penalty, and then my mate goes and steals all the glory!
