A tricky RPG roguelike, FOR THE KING is better with friends.

Dice Roles

A trio of misfit fantasy adventurers set off into a fairytale world to right the wrongs that have befallen their kingdom. For the King’s typical setup belies a tough, tactical game with a bunch of painful ways to die. Taking lessons from the best of tabletop adventure and roleplaying games, For the King’s simple systems create complex and emergent strategies. Varied weapons and classes make it a light RPG that gets more fun each time I play it. Plus, it’s better in co-op.

It’s a goofy dungeon romp that exudes lightness and humour, from the ragdolling corpses to the mix-and-match equipment options. I can’t help but laugh watching my wizard, in jester’s cap and plate mail armour, shoot a monster with a fireball – causing it to flop into a boulder, comically scattering bones and blood.
