‘I don't DIET!'

She may be one of the busiest women in showbiz and mum to Chester, 13, Tilly, 16, and Holly, 18, but Davina McCall ensures that she always makes time for exercise. Woman discovers how the youthful 52-year-old manages to do so…

What do you do to keep yourself feeling good at this time of year?

It’s exercise all the way for me. I always take a bit of a step back when I go away in the summer. Then I ramp things up again in autumn, so I feel like I’m properly back in the swing now. My life wouldn’t be the same without exercise. It’s so good for me mentally and physically. Nothing hits the spot quite like a good workout if you’re feeling stressed or anxious.

Do you work out every day?

No, but in an ideal world I will work out three to four times a week. If I’ve planned to exercise, I’ll make sure I stick to it because, otherwise, it’s too easy to fall off the wagon. It’s really important to try and schedule workouts into your week. I’m not obsessive, but I get such huge benefits from working out – my life wouldn’t be the same without it. It winds me up when people say I do too much exercise. I really don’t think that you can do too much exercise. I don’t get it! I’d absolutely love to be in the position where I have enough time to do too much exercise!
