We've found our sexy size

Kelly Brook has admitted she’s finally happy with her body, following years of being ‘skinny and miserable’. Kelly, 40, revealed she had a wake-up call two years ago at a red-carpet event. Regular pub lunches and being happy meant her weight had crept up to size 16 – having once been size 8. Since then, she has dieted, and works out three times a week to achieve her ‘size sexy’, a 10-12. She said, ‘My body likes being curvy. I’m not going to aspire to be something that’s unattainable.’ We meet three women who – despite weight loss and gain – have also found their ‘size sexy’.

‘By my late 20s, I got really big from my desk job’

Jess Mason-Wilkes, 34, is a musician. She’s single and lives in east London. At 5ft 9in, I’m tall and have always been ‘big’. Even at school, I was taller and rounder than friends. I went through puberty before anyone else. I felt a bit of pressure when I compared my physique to everyone else. In my 20s, my weight yo-yoed from size 10-18.

I worked in Australia and Tunisia. In the heat and with the constant running around, I went down to size 10.

By my late-20s, I got really big. I was sitting on my bum for 10 hours a day in a desk job. People would bring in food to work, too. By 30, I was an 18. I know it was down to a poor diet and lack of exercise. It was when my brother came to stay and went, ‘Whoa! You’re supposed to be the slim one!’... That was my wake-up call. I weighed 14st and I felt awful.
