‘I was told to retire AT 50!'

Former newsreader Angela Rippon has been a familiar face on our screens ever since she first became a reporter for the BBC in the late 60s.

She didn’t even take a break from work during the recent lockdown. Instead, she presented HealthCheck UK Live every day for five weeks, recorded children’s stories for a charity, and filmed parts of Rip Off Britain.

Angela reveals, ‘Even though I was at home, the amount of work put into a daily live program is exactly the same.
