She’s best known for her hugely successful property shows, notably Location, Location, Location. But in recent years, Kirstie Allsopp has also carved herself a career out of crafting.

Last year, Kirstie, 49, ensured we all had a dose of normality over Christmas with her festive frolics on Channel 4, which was just what the nation needed after fears celebrations would be cancelled altogether, thanks to the global pandemic.

While the TV star’s career has spanned a number of years, Kirstie admits she never had a ‘plan’ when it came to her future. ‘I worked on a country-style magazine for four years, which I loved. I would have been very happy to stay there,’ she recalls. ‘My mum was an interior decorator and I would have loved to have done that. There wasn’t a lot of planning – I didn’t have great visions for myself in doing this.’

In fact, Kirstie would say she fell on her feet. ‘I hear people saying “I always wanted to do this” but let me tell you that did not happen round my way. I didn’t have that. I’ve never applied for a job, apart from the ambassador for Keep Britain Tidy. I’ve fallen into all sorts of things and I’ve been very lucky, but there was never a plan.’
