Gaynor Faye has had unexpected time to explore the great outdoors over the past year, with the pandemic closing theatres and creating filming uncertainties. But for Gaynor, it couldn’t have come at a better time, as it has given her the chance to re-bond with her children.

‘The first lockdown was about getting out in nature,’ says the actress, who lives with partner Mark and children Oliver, 19, and Lily, 17, in a village nestled in the Yorkshire countryside.

‘How do you get a teenager to go for a walk with you? You can in a pandemic when there’s nothing else to do,’ she laughs. ‘It’s a way of having a good chat with them about something other than the latest Instagram trends. Our walks were very much taken up with talking. That was essential because it was a unique experience. Nobody knew what was to come. And I’m still walking.’
