He was definitely tasty – but did she dare make the first move?

MR EGG-AND-CRESS
I’ve been working with Louisa for ages now. She started at the sandwich shop just after I became manager, and we get on well most of the time. Only, she has always been far too interested in my private life.

When we first met, she asked me all sorts of questions about my divorce, and she’s been demanding to know if I fancy anybody ever since. But I’ve never told her how I feel about Mr Egg-and-Cress because I’m scared she’ll embarrass me.

It was bad enough when she told Mr Panini I was single because I used to laugh at all his jokes.

Thankfully, he saw the funny side and told us cheerfully he wasn’t available because he had a husband at home. But I was mortified, and it would be 10 times worse if Louisa said anything to Mr Egg-and-Cress because he’s just my type.

I’ve been taken with him since he first walked in a few weeks ago. And I’m surprised Louisa hasn’t noticed, to be honest, because my voice sounds strange when I speak to him and I blush sometimes too.

It’s ridiculous really, and I was just as pathetic when I bumped into him in the pub last night. Suddenly noticing he was standing next to me at the bar when I went to get drinks for me and my friend, I blurted out all sorts of rubbish and found myself blushing again.
