MYTH #1
You can erase your pores
They play an important role in skin function, so pores can’t be removed. But you can reduce the appearance of them with products. Dr Jonquille Chantrey, cosmetic surgeon and founder of ONE Aesthetic Studio, says, ‘Reducing pore size is a challenge as the collagen and elastin network around the pore may be structurally weak and unable to shrink significantly.’
A heavy-duty cleanser like Vichy Normaderm Phytosolution Volcanic Mattifying Cleanser, £16.50, will soak up pore-clogging grime. Follow with salicylic acid – we love Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, £10, cultbeauty.co.uk, to reduce deep-down congestion.
