सन् 2015 अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय प्रकाश वर्ष के रूप में मनाया जा रहा था। प्रकाश के गुण, प्रकाश सम्बन्धी परिघटनाओं और प्रकाश के अनुप्रयोग पर चर्चा के लिए जगह-जगह गोष्ठी, सम्मेलन, वक्तव्य, कार्यशाला आदि आयोजित हो रहे थे, तो मन में प्रकाश के बारे में और पढ़ने की जिज्ञासा हुई। इसी क्रम में पढ़ते-पढ़ते कुछ लिखने का भी मन हुआ तो प्रकाश द्वारा एक सेकण्ड में तय की जाने वाली 30,00,00,000 मीटर की यात्रा पर जाने का विचार जागा। प्रस्तुत लेख में उसी यात्रा के कुछ अंश का ज़िक्र कर रही हूँ।
