THE STRIKING INSTAGRAM PAGE of Jeremy Chan replete with images of him foiling, a surface water sport, could have pulled a wool over the eyes of people who don't know him. He could have been a digital nomad travelling the world but in reality and complete contrast, he is in a rather staid business. You see, he heads the safe division of MOEM Safe, in addition to overseeing business development of the parent company MOEM Holdings.
Formerly known as Malaysian Office Equipment Manufacturers, the family business founded by his grandfather in 1961 presently trades solely by the initials MOEM. From an unassuming beginning as an office equipment manufacturer, it is now a substantial operation. According to the Augustman A-List alumnus, their ISOcertified manufacturing plant located in Klang occupies a swathe of land spanning 10 acres, employing 400 skilled workers specialised in shearing, punching, forming, welding, lasering and powder coating.
"We are known for fullscale manufacturing of office furniture, retail shelves, kiosks, mobile storage and, of course, physical security equipment such as safes and vaults," he says. "We have many years of experience and expertise in manufacturing safes and vaults."
The brand MOEM Safe is focused on manufacturing security products such as safes, vaults and security doors. Offering a breadth of safes from as small as ones seen in hotel rooms to large safes befitting a diamond dealer, goldsmith, financial institution or luxury boutique. Their competitive edge counts not only in terms of pricing but also international recognition. They carry the seal of approval by the Research Institute of Sweden, a leading certification body for safe manufacturing.
