IS OLIVIA’S MISSING EX STILL ALIVE?

A 17-YEAR MYSTERY HAUNTED THE LATE SINGER

Despite her famously sunny disposition, the late Olivia Newton-John certainly was no stranger to tragedy in her life.

She dealt with three cancer diagnoses, losing her father and sister to the same insidious disease, and endured a divorce from the father of her daughter, who later went on to marry the family’s former babysitter.

But nothing in Olivia’s extraordinary personal life has quite captured public interest like the 2005 disappearance of her boyfriend Patrick McDermott. The unsolved mystery allegedly haunted the star until her passing earlier this month.

Even after several investigations into how he vanished from an overnight fishing trip out of Los Angeles’ San Pedro Harbor, it’s still unknown whether Patrick fell from the boat and drowned, died by suicide, or possibly faked his death after settling his galley tab in the hour before his boat docked on July 1, 2005.

Patrick’s absence wasn’t noticed until he failed to attend a family event on July 6. He was formally reported missing on July 11 when he didn’t pick up the son he shared with his ex-wife, 21 Jump Street actress, Yvette Nipar.

At the time, Olivia was on holiday in Australia with her daughter Chloe.
