With Indian consumers are now demanding high quality goods and services, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has sought harmonization of standards with international bodies, to help India adopt standards that are globally accepted, and underlined the need for industry to move out of the mindset of 'two standards of everything'. \"Our effort is that every product that is made in India will be a high quality product,\" Goyal said at a 'G20 Standards Dialogue' at Bharat Mandapam on Friday.

RBI still chasing 4 per cent inflation target

Govt launches amnesty scheme for appeal filing
The Finance Ministry of India has introduced an amnesty scheme to facilitate the filing of appeals against Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand orders. This initiative aims to provide relief to taxpayers who were unable to submit their appeals against orders issued by tax officers on or before March 31, 2023. The scheme, open until January 31, 2024, is designed to ease the burden on taxpayers and encourage better compliance.
