ALAN Hansen is on the road to recovery after spending time seriously ill in hospital, according to his friend and former team-mate Graeme Souness.
Souness revealed yesterday that he spoke to Hansen on the phone on Sunday night and he seemed in high spirits.
He had previously said he was praying for his friend during what was a "desperate time" for Hansen's wife and children.
