Tribute bar where Oasis live forever

OASIS has taken Brad Dixon all over the country but it was walking through Bolton town centre that he found his spiritual home.

For the last 30 years, he has lived and breathed all things Noel and Liam Gallagher. The 40-year-old is lucky enough to have watched his favourite band perform at Maine Road, Wembley and in Cardiff before their acrimonious split back in 2009.

And like millions of other Oasis fans, he has spent years dreaming of a reunion. While he waited for the Gallagher brothers to finally bury the hatchet, he found the perfect place to get his fix.

Shortly after moving to Bolton four years ago, Brad stumbled across Definitely Maybe bar.

“I was walking down the street and could hear this music playing,” he explained. “It was like it was magnetic. I followed the music and I’ve not been able to leave since.”

Brad is one of many Oasis lovers who frequent the live music venue - believed to be the UK’s only Oasisthemed bar. Keen to prove his credentials as a fan, he reels off the countless occasions he has seen the band live.

He even named his son Lennon, just as his hero, Liam, did.

“I’ve been a fan since it all started,” he said. “This place keeps the dream alive, it’s the only place I go.

“They’re like The Beatles and the Stones, the music is timeless. They’ll live forever.”

After more than 15 years, the dreams of Brad and millions of others came true this week when Oasis announced a run of special reunions shows across the UK and Ireland next summer, including five nights at Heaton Park in July. For Brad, the timing could hardly be better.

“Now is the right time,” he said. “The whole country is f***** but this is the one thing that brings us back together.

“No matter who you are, what colour or religion you are, one thing we ll have in common is Oasis.
