Which Lens Will Defeat All Others and Win the Crown?
Ryan Sitzman
70-200MM LENS CAGE MATCH

Rumor has it that not too long ago, in a major city somewhere in the world, a handful of selected people made their way to an unmarked door in a hidden-away alley. If you knocked on the door three times, a small panel slid open, but there was only darkness beyond the hole.

For those lucky enough to know the password (“Bokeh”), the door opened silently, revealing a hallway to a dimly lit room known only as “Thunderdome Junior.” In that room, four fierce competitors waged an incredible battle to the death. Each of these warriors was so convinced that they would emerge victorious that they were prepared to stake it all - fame, fortune, limb and even life - for a chance to win the one elusive prize they all desired: the title of “The Best.”

OK, I’m sorry. I can’t live this lie anymore. This is actually just a humble article that compares four camera lenses. To be sure, they’re great lenses, but the concept of a lens showdown doesn’t pack quite the same amount of pep or pizzazz as a Wrestlemania-style rumble between four fighters, does it? I suppose we can always imagine that these lenses are duking it out, though, right? I shall be indulging in this fantasy for the rest of this article, and I invite you to do so as well.

The four lenses that we’ll be looking at are all 70-200 mm lenses (or equivalent), and they represent four of the leading options for professional or serious amateur photographers looking for an amazing all-around zoom lens. Because these are four of the best lenses on the market right now, we can certainly say that there are no losers here.

Still, I don't want you to think I'm trying to give you the ol' bait-and-switch, so I'll say right from the top that this lens is quite pricey, and it's certainly not for everyone.
