JC Deep Dive: How should Jets handle ownership?
There is so much uncertainly surrounding the Jets right now.
Good player, great teammate, but expendable
Right after the Jets lost to Kansas City, 35-9, Nov. 2, it was announced they traded linebacker Avery Williamson to Pittsburgh, along with a 2022 seventh-round pick, in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick.
Douglas: ‘I have to do a better job'
On Nov. 3, Jets GM Joe Douglas held a press conference at the mid-season mark. Here are some excerpts from this 25-minute press briefing that was held online via Zoom:
Shoots from the hip
After the Jets released Le’Veon Bell, SNY’s Connor Hughes asked coach Adam Gase, “Are you worried at all about the rest of the locker room, because Le’Veon was one of the guys that a lot of people looked up to, a big profile-name player, somebody that obviously a lot of these guys played within video games — I mean they know who Le’Veon Bell is, and to see you guys cut him, are you worried about the message it sends to the rest of locker room about the rest of the season?”

Reading defenses is freakin' hard
Reading NFL defenses as an NFL quarterback is one of the most difficult things to do in all of sports.
How to make interview process extraorindary
We don’t fire people in Jets Confidential, but there is a lot of speculation about a potential coaching change at some point.
Franklin-Myers turning into Jets' bright spot
It was a transaction that didn’t garner a lot of attention, but this player is starting to get people’s attention.
Empower Douglas to ‘Raven-ize' Jets
After the Jets released Le’Veon Bell, Oct. 13, an ESPN reporter pondered a couple of questions.
All teams should be ripped equally
On Sept. 17, sports talk host Alan Hahn, who works for the Jets’ flagship radio station, ESPN NY (98.7 FM), ripped into Jets coach Adam Gase and owner Christopher Johnson.
The Daily News' war against Jets rages on, even with top writer banned
The Daily News’ war against the New York Jets continues, even with long-time Jets nemesis Manish Mehta having had his credential revoked by the team in August. The Jets believe they have due cause, and when it comes to credentialing people, it’s entirely up to the team. The Jets can let in whomever they darn well please, and there’s really nowhere to complain, including the league office.

Should Becton slim down or is enormity advantageous?
Some might argue left tackle Mekhi Becton is too heavy for the position he plays, a spot that requires him to be very light on his feet.

Johnson's State of the Jets press conference
On Sept. 16, Jets owner Christopher Johnson addressed the media. This was four days after the team’s opening-day loss to Buffalo, which was treated like Armageddon in much of Jets Nation. Johnson talked about that game and more in this press briefing:
Hard to mask this Jets, NFL issue
NFL executive VP of football operations Troy Vincent sent a memo to all 32 clubs on Monday, Sept. 14, that shouldn’t come as a surprise, based on what we saw this summer at Jets camp.

QUESTION SESSION WITH QUINNEN WILLIAMS
Twitter Talk: Fans react to Mosley opting out
On Aug. 1, Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley decided to opt out of the 2020 season due to concerns about COVID-19. The NFL gave players until Aug. 6 to decide, and if they opted out, they received a $150,000 stipend for the season that they have to pay back next year. Mosley also was able to keep a $10 million contract bonus he received in the spring.
JC Deep Dive: Is Tannenbaum right about ‘blueprint?'
Former New York Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said the team’s current GM, Joe Douglas, showed his players a “blueprint to get out” by giving in to Jamal Adams by trading the safety to Seattle, July 25, after Adams bashed the organization in the Daily News and on social media.
Is it a cash-flow issue or just being smart?
As legendary coach Bill Parcells once said about free agency, “You can’t buy a championship.”
