During a time when shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place reigned supreme, Party of Five-and its story of the orphaned Salinger siblings essentially raising themselves-broke the mold with a less soapy, more down-toearth approach to teen angst. It also paved the way for a new style of hit dramas like Dawson's Creek, Friday Night Lights and Gilmore Girls.
Boasting an outstanding cast, Party of Five ran for six seasons from 1994 to 2000, but was, as TV Guide called it, "The best show you're not watching." Of course, we did watch, the series gaining a cult following that continues to thrive today. Viewers were intrigued by the Salinger siblings' relationships and love interests, and story lines that did not shy away from tackling serious issues among them substance abuse, cancer and domestic violence. And with that, we take a look back at the stars that brought the Salingers to life!
SCOTT WOLF BAILEY SALINGER
Second child Bailey was played by Scott Wolf, who immediately shot to teen heartthrob status with his all-American boyish charm and good looks (complete with irresistible dimples).
Since Party of Five wrapped, Wolf, 55, has continued to act, starring in a wide variety of made-for-TV movies and shows. Most notably, he went on to play Jake Hartman on The WB series Everwood, Dr. Scott Clemmens on The Night Shift and Detective Carson Drew on The CW series Nancy Drew. He most recently starred in the 2023 Hallmark film A Merry Scottish Christmas alongside Lacey Chabert!
NEVE CAMPBELL
JULIA SALINGER
Playing the third child in the Salinger family, 15-year-old Julia, Neve Campbell brought to the role intelligence and sensitivity.
