'I don't like being SINGLE'

After first making a name for herself three decades ago as a chat show host, Vanessa Feltz is now one of TV’s most recognisable faces. Here, Woman sits down with the star, 62, to discuss her new book, Vanessa Bares All: Frank, Funny and Fearless, in which she opens up about finding love after heartbreak (she split from fiancé Ben Ofoedu in January last year after it emerged that he had cheated), the reality show she’d love to take part in and setting her sights on Hollywood.

Hi Vanessa, how’s single life treating you?

It’s OK, thank you. Although I’ve been ill recently and am still feeling pretty rotten. I hope day by day I’ll start to feel better.

Are you looking for love?

I’m not ‘looking’ for love but I am hoping I might find it somehow. I don’t like being single; I’m not someone who enjoys it, so I hope to meet somebody sometime.

What are you looking for in your next partner?

Just someone kind and decent that I can trust, that’s all I want.

Your last partner was 10 years younger than you – do you think you’ll go for someone closer to your own age next time?

I think it’s about personality, not age. It’s about morals; they need to have a moral compass.

What would you say are the best and worst things about ageing?
