‘It’s my time to be SELFISH’

She's remained a regular fixture on our screens since she first appeared as Eileen Grimshaw on Coronation Street in 2000 but it wasn't until her stint on I'm a Celebrity last November that fans got to know the real Sue Cleaver. Now, the 59-year-old shares her life lessons and why she's ready to make herself a priority.

Speaking on Kaye Adams' How To Be 60 podcast, Sue revealed that as she gets older, she wants to please others less and do more of what she wants. ‘Coming up towards 60, something shifted in me that made me thin “why am I doing this?” I think my focus changed – where I was in life, what I was doing, what was important to me. Everything’s sort of changed.’

Her new mindset has had a positive effect, as the star explains. 'I feel better than I did five, 10 years ago think this [your 60s] really is the decade for women to claim as their own. It's about striving forward and doing what you want to do. Sod everybody else to be honest! Jog on, I'm going to be a little bit selfish now!'

Mind matters
