In 2017, Holly Willoughby gave an interview in which she declared that Phillip Schofield was her all-time hero for landing her the job on This Morning.
"There's no way I would even have been considered for This Morning if it hadn't been for Phil,' she gushed. 'I know for a fact that he pushed for me to get the job in the first place. I totally owe him everything.'
She went on to say that they had a pact to quit together if the other one wanted to go. 'I can't imagine This Morning without Phil. It’s us together. I think I need him on that show, so, yes, we are a total team.’
Fast forward to 2023, however, and it all went horribly sour. For those of us with long memories, it’s a bit like when Fern Britton got ever so cross with Phil all those years ago, and quit – creating the gap that Holly filled in 2009.
But what on earth caused the Dancing on Ice pair to get so frosty, having previously shared holidays with each other’s families and been self-proclaimed besties?
