કચ્છ જોવા તો ઘણા લોકો આવે છે, પરંતુ તેને સમજવા બહુ ઓછા. શાળામાં જતાં બાળકો કે તરુણોને ભણવામાં કચ્છ અને કચ્છને લગતી બાબતો આવતી હોય છે. સિંધુ સંસ્કૃતિ વિશે તો તેઓ ભણે છે, પરંતુ ખરેખરી સાઇટ ઉપર જઈને તેનો અહેસાસ કેવો હોય છે તે જાણી શકતા નથી. તેઓ ખેતી વિશે ભણે છે, કલા અંગે પણ ભણવામાં આવે છે. કચ્છમાં આવીને આ અને આના જેવી અનેક બાબતો વિશે તેઓ જાણી, માણી અને અનુભવી શકે છે. કચ્છ વિશે કચ્છ બહારના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને આ બાબત સમજાવવાની પહેલ હુન્નરશાળા ફાઉન્ડેશન દ્વારા કરવામાં આવી છે. નવેમ્બરથી ફેબ્રુઆરી સુધી શાળા અને કૉલેજના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ કચ્છમાં આવીને જે-તે વિષયના નિષ્ણાતો સાથે વિવિધ જાતના અનુભવો મેળવે છે. ૩થી ૧૦-૧૨ દિવસ સુધી વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અહીં રહે છે.
