Available exclusively with Jaguar’s 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine, the 405 kW/700 Nm beast accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and tops out at an eye-watering 286 km/h. Acceleration is augmented by Dynamic Launch, which uses driveline inertia to maintain power to the wheels during gear changes, which happen via the rapid-changing eight-speed automatic transmission.
Jaguar’s All-Wheel-Drive system with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics comes standard, while Adaptive Dynamics suspension technology delivers a precise and dynamic ride set-up. Using Configurable Dynamics, drivers are able to customize the vehicle to suit their preferences; when Dynamic mode is selected, a stopwatch, G-Meter and pedal graph record and provide stats on driving performance. A new electronic power-assisted steering system provides an almost symbiotic link between the driver and vehicle, with improved accuracy, response and just the right amount of resistance.
An Integrated Power Booster supports the 395 mm (front) and 396 mm (rear) two-piece disc brakes. This, along with the vehicle’s improved cooling and aerodynamics, gives drivers greater confidence in the performance of the brakes.
