Omnichannel retail is widely considered the next evolution of multichannel. It is no longer the buzzword. It is a necessity, and all retailers are trying to implement it for their brands.
A seven-minute presentation by Sanjeeb Padhee, Head of Sales, Unicommerce, titled ‘Disrupting Retail for a Billion Consumers Through Technology’ laid out how retailers are looking forward to Omnichannel solutions in place of multichannel and single-channel solutions. The idea to provide a seamless experience on all platforms is the main motive of the retailers. The presentation was a part of the Fashion Techway at the 20th Edition of India Fashion Forum, which was held recently Hotel Conrad, Bengaluru.

Multichannel vs Omnichannel
Multichannel marketing focuses on putting the brand at the center of the strategy and then reaching out to several channels to be present for consumers. Here the brand stays at the middle and then they reach out to the consumers via store, website, mobile or social media.
In comparison to this, Omnichannel marketing puts the consumer at the center of operations and focuses on creating experiences across channels. The idea is to provide a unified experience.
