Bobbi Brown’s make-up guru, FELIX NGUYEN, on how to make the K-trend of thick, straight brows work for you, plus other goof-proof make-up tips.
1 How to… fake a flawless complexion
According to Felix, Singaporean women have “great makeup skills” but tend to overdo it when it comes to powdering. “Be diligent about touching up only when you need it, as opposed to applying a lot of powder at one go [to mattify oily, shiny spots],” he advises. To help your make-up blend naturally, he recommends moisturising your skin before applying make-up. “Although it’s very humid in Singapore, people spend a fair bit of time in air-conditioned places so their surroundings are actually very dry. You need to moisturise your skin adequately. If you have oily skin, use a gel-based moisturiser. But if you have dry skin, use something richer. And choose the right foundation for your purpose — moisturising foundations don’t tend to be long-wearing. Compact cushion foundations are great for dry skin as they have a liquid formula that is more hydrating.”
2 How to… hide your under-eye bags
