The Hongkong- based TV host on how joining Celebrity Car Wars made him a better driver. Ish.
8 DAYS: On Celebrity Car Wars, you have to show off your automobile knowledge. On a scale of one to 10, how big a motor head are you?
DOMINIC: It depends really. I don’t know much about engines. But I’ll say that I know how to handle a car. So I'll give myself a solid seven out of 10 (laughs). I’m more of a fan of classic cars than modern luxury cars. Actually, I change my mind. I would choose the very modern Jaguar S-Type.
When did you start driving?
I got my licence when I was 20. The irony here is, even though I’ve never owned a car, I love to drive manual — I love the feeling of switching gears. I like to ride motorcycles, too. I have a Ducati Monster 1100S. I love her — she’s my baby.
Did you prepare by watching the first season of Celebrity Car Wars?
Certainly. Even so, I didn’t know what to expect, to be honest. Going into a show like this with five other strong personalities was kind of intimidating at first. The only thing I did was to mentally prepare myself to bring out my A-game. I knew there were going to be others who will be just as competitive as I was.
Your fellow contestants are Malaysian comedian Harith Iskander, Thai actors Aerin Yuktadatta and Guy Ratchanont, Filipino model Phoemela Baranda, and American reality TV star Jarrod Schulz of Storage Wars. Who among them would you carpool with?
