On The Fast Track Elyse Lambert, Master Sommelier

Elyse Lambert began her career as a sommelier over 15 years ago in some of the best hotels and restaurants in Québec.

In 2004 she won the title of Best Sommelier of Quebec, was ranked third in the whole of Canada in 2006. Three years later, in 2009, she won the competition for the Best Sommelier of the Americas held in Buenos Aires and represented Canada at the Best Sommelier of the World Competition in April 2010 in Chile, reaching the semi-finals with a ranking in the top 12 worldwide.

In 2012, Lambert was invited by the Court of Master Sommeliers to apply for the Master Sommelier qualification. In May 2015 in Aspen Colorado, she became the second Canadian woman to hold the globally recognized title of Master Sommelier, a distinction held by only 236 Master Sommeliers in the World.

Elyse Lambert was in India in April for the Taj International Vine and Food Experience 2017. Reva K Singh caught up with her in Hyderabad at the Taj Falaknuma Palace.
