SWANSEA City hammered home their title creden-tials with a clinical exhibition of finishing at the New York Stadium.
Superb strikes from Conor Hourihane and Matt Grimes gave the visitors a commanding half-time lead.
And though Freddie Ladapo gave the plucky Millers a second-half lifeline, it was swiftly swiped away when substitute Jay Fulton flicked a brilliant third with his first touch to tighten the Swans’ grip on second place.
“There isn’t a lot you can do against finishing like that,” said Rotherham boss Paul Warne, whose side missed the chance to move out of the bottom three.
“It wasn’t like they cut us open on numerous occasions. It wasn’t like Jamal Blackman made loads of saves and kept us in it. We just came up against an outstanding team who put away every chance they got. Full respect to them.”
In fairness to Warne and his players, Andre Ayew is paid more in a year than the entire Rotherham first-team squad and staff. In fairness to Ayew, it showed. The Swans striker was immaculate in every touch, as was man-of-the-match Hourihane.
