Fast fillers

Hardy annuals, like marigolds and poppies, are great fillers for beds and containers. They grow fast and produce masses of flowers to entice pollinators and bring a buzz to your borders. Plus many self-seed, so they’ll pop up again next year, with no effort required! While hardy annuals can be sown in the ground now, half-hardy annuals, such as zinnia, are sensitive to the cold, so wait until the last frosts have passed or sow under cover.

Successful sowing
