The owner initially took Simbha to a veterinarian three weeks prior, reporting lethargy, decreased appetite, and the presence of a firm, rapidly growing mass in the left inguinal region. A complete blood count (CBC) performed at a commercial laboratory revealed significant abnormalities, including high white blood cell count, low platelet count, increased lymphocytes and monocytes, and no clinically significant abnormalities in serum biochemistry. An abdominal ultrasound confirmed the presence of a large intra-abdominal mass.
Upon presentation at the clinic, Simbha appeared alert with normal vital signs. The abdomen was tense, moderately distended, and palpation of discrete abdominal structures was not possible. A firm, fixed mass measuring 18 cm was found in the left inguinal region. Additionally, Simbha had slightly enlarged nipples and linear redness in the preputial region.
Hematological changes included mild non-regenerative anemia, a slight increase in white blood cell count, and significantly increased platelet count. Clinically significant abnormalities were observed in hepatic and biliary values during this visit. Thoracic radiographs showed changes in the lung tissue (anterior lobes) but no clear signs of metastasis.
